At 16, Penny Oleksiak became the first Canadian to win four medals at a single summer Games at Rio 2016. Her performance there tied her with Victor Davis as Canada's most decorated Olympic swimmer of all time. She's also the youngest Olympic Gold medallist ever, taking home the medal for the 100m freestyle. Her success at Rio 2016 led to her being awarded the 2016 Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's top athlete, the Bobbie Rosenfeld Award as Canada's top female athlete for 2016, and the Canadian Press team of the year.

In 2018, she won three silver medals at the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Andre De Grasse is back after a problematic hamstring injury sidelined him for two seasons. He has the bronze medal in the 100m event from the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha to prove it.

De Grasse became the first Canadian to win Olympic medals in all three sprint events at Rio 2016. He went toe to toe with Usain Bolt and won a bronze in the 100m, a silver medal in the 200m and a bronze in the 4x100m relay. All three medals broke and set records for him.

De Grasse first made North American headlines back in 2015 when he won both the 100m and 200m within 45 minutes of each other at the NCAA Championships.

Kylie Masse is the first Canadian woman to win a world title in swimming, capturing gold in the 100m backstroke at the FINA World Championships in 2017. This came after setting a national record when she won bronze in the 100m backstroke during her Olympic debut at Rio 2016.

In 2018, she won gold in the 100m and 200m backstroke events at the Commonwealth Games in Australia, setting event records in both. She has also been named Swimming Canada's Female Swimmer of the Year (2017, 2018)

Jennifer Abel made her international debut in 2006 winning a bronze medal in the 3m at the world junior championships. She went on to be the youngest Canadian diver at Beijing 2008, and won Canada's first medal of the London 2012 games in the 3m synchro.

More recently, in 2018 she took home silver at the FINA World cup with partner Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu. That same year, she also won the 3m gold at the Commonwealth Games. Since 2014, she has consistently finished in the top three in the 3m springboard at the FINA World Series, and placed first in 2019.

Maggie MacNeil is currently a student and member of the swim team at the University of Michigan. In her freshman year, she won titles in the 50m free, 100m fly and 200m and 400m free relays. She placed 2nd in the 100m fly at the NCAA Championships.

At the 2019 World Championships this summer, she won a bronze medal as part of the 4x100m free relay, and shocked audiences with a gold medal in the 100m fly. Her first place standing meant she had knocked off three-time world champion and defending gold medallist Sarah Sjostrom. She posted a record time of 55.83 seconds.
