Synopsis

Created by Morwyn Brebner (Saving Hope, Rookie Blue) and inspired by the best-selling series of books by M. R. Hall, Coroner is a character-driven CBC original drama about Dr. Jenny Cooper (Serinda Swan), a widowed coroner who investigates suspicious, unnatural and sudden deaths in Toronto alongside Detective Donovan McAvoy (Roger Cross). As Jenny and those around her come to understand the true meaning of what it means to be alive as they dance with death, the series reflects the complex racial, class and gender diversity of Toronto, with each death sparking on timely themes and bringing Jenny into new parts of the city.
